Note: Children’s items that you sell or donate need to meet safety and quality standards. Most stores require a check with the Consumer Product Safety Commission or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to be sure that items like car seats and furniture are not under recall or unsafe for children. If you have a car seat you cannot sell, consider recycling it through the Target car seat trade-in program or a similar recycling program.

• How to sell: You can either order a bag or use your own packaging to send up to 15 pounds of unwanted items to thredUP. When thredUP receives your package, it will inspect, photograph, and list the items, as well as ship them to the buyer for you. It will donate or recycle items that are not in good enough condition to sell. Acceptable items will remain for sale for either 60 or 90 days on consignment, depending on the brand, and thredUP will pay you after the item sells.
