Latex-free balloons can be made out of Mylar (also listed as “foil”), plastic, and vinyl. Mylar balloons are the easiest to find, as they are often available at craft stores, dollar stores, superstores, and grocery store floral departments.
Latex balloons have a powder inside and out that can spread latex molecules through the air. If you, your child, or someone else has a latex allergy, it’s best to choose a latex-free option to avoid an allergic reaction.

We called several store locations of each chain to confirm the availability of non-latex balloons, but, keep in mind, in-store availability will vary by location and helium filling may not be available at all stores due to the global helium shortage.
