Other offerings in the clothing collection include tops, skirts, dresses, and even children’s sizes and men’s t-shirts. Shirt and dress sizes range from XXS to 3XL and retail prices range from $23 to $70, depending on the item. The most popular items sold are the LuLaRoe leggings, which retail for $23 to $25. Leggings come in three sizes: One Size (2 to 10), Tall & Curvy (12 to 18), and Tall & Curvy 2 or “TC2” (18+).

A unique aspect of LuLaRoe’s line is the claim that for each pattern used, only about 1,000 pieces of clothing are cut from it. The patterns range from muted and modern to fun and wacky, including a unicorn pattern on leggings that is in fierce demand. This has led to other hard-to-find patterns being deemed “unicorns” as well, not because the patterns have unicorns, but because of their similarly elusive nature. LuLaRoe shoppers have been known to go on a “unicorn hunt” searching for a particular pattern.

Where is LuLaRoe Manufactured?

Where is LuLaRoe made? LuLaRoe’s corporate headquarters are located in sunny Corona, California. The clothing, however, is manufactured in various countries, including the United States, Korea, Guatemala, and Vietnam. Mexico and China are also locations where LuLaRoe items are manufactured. And even if a LuLaRoe clothing item states that it is “Made in the USA” the tag often also states that the fabric was imported. This means the fabric used to make the clothing piece came from a foreign country, but the item was actually cut and sewn in a facility within the United States.

When an item is manufactured in a foreign country, child labor or forced labor is a concern. China and Vietnam are on the list of countries who use child and/or forced labor to manufacture textiles. We here at First Quarter Finance contacted the public relations department at LuLaRoe and were given this answer when asked if the company ensured its manufacturers did not use child labor: “We manufacture our products in eight countries besides the United States. Our dedicated sourcing supplier works with third-party auditing companies to ensure that our products are produced humanely and ethically and are in full compliance with international labor laws.”

What Are LuLaRoe Leggings Made Of?

Depending on the item, most LuLaRoe clothing is made up of blends of polyester and spandex. The blending of polyester with spandex makes for the stretchiness of the leggings and the comfort of the dresses and tops.

LuLaRoe leggings are the company’s best-selling clothing item and are made of 92% polyester and 8% spandex. Tops and dresses are typically about 96% polyester and 4% spandex. We here at FQF reached out to the public relations department at LuLaRoe about the content of its materials and was informed: “We have more than 40 fabrics and over 100 different content variations within each fabric. There are several variations within one yard of fabric.”

The texture of the “buttery soft” leggings is a unique manufacturing process and according to LuLaRoe’s public relations department, the company has a patent pending on the process that creates this buttery softness. Once the patent is approved, LuLaRoe will have exclusivity to this process and no other company will be allowed to use the process in its manufacturing process.

Unlike cotton or wool, which are natural materials that are grown in a field or removed from an animal, polyester and spandex are man-made materials, involving the use of chemicals, including petroleum, to make the materials.

How to Care for LuLaRoe Clothing

If you own any clothing pieces from LuLaRoe you’ll see the care instructions noted on the tag of each piece. We’ll discuss in more detail here so you can keep your LuLaRoe looking as new as the day you purchased it. The public relations department at LuLaRoe has this to say about caring for LuLaRoe clothing in general: “As with other clothing, we recommend all your garments hang dry as a dryer can alter the fit and durability of garments.”

Machine Wash Gentle Cycle

There are various names for the gentlest cycle on your washing machine. Typically, it’s called the delicate cycle. This means the agitation and spin cycles during this wash are slower and gentler on your clothing and have an overall shorter duration to complete the entire wash cycle. This would be the preferred cycle in which to wash your LuLaRoe clothing. Choose cold water wash and cold water rinse if your washing machine offers these choices for the delicate cycle. Cold water is gentler on your clothing than hot and cold water prevents colors from bleeding or running. If you have the time, the most gentle cycle is handwashing in cool water with a gentle laundry detergent, rinsing well with cool water, squeezing the water out and then hanging dry.

Air Dry

If it’s absolutely necessary for you to dry your LuLaRoe clothing in the dryer, you’ll want to use the lowest temperature and gentlest drying cycle available on your dryer. Heat from a dryer can cause damage to any article of clothing over long periods of wear. Most of the LuLaRoe items note on the care instruction’s tag to “Hang dry or you’ll be sad”. Even if the care instructions state to tumble dry low, it’s always a good idea to hang dry as this is the gentlest way to dry an item and ensure its longevity. Continuously using the dryer to dry your LuLaRoe items will cause the fabric to break down faster, which can lead to holes, tears, and misshapen clothing that doesn’t fit well.
