You can also store your Apple Card number in your Wallet app to use when making online or in-app purchases. For more details on where and how to use the Apple Card, see below.

Where Can I Use the Apple Card?

The Apple Card is a Mastercard credit card issued by Goldman Sachs Bank. After approval, you’ll receive a physical card; there are also mobile payment options for the Apple Card, using Apple Pay or the Wallet app.

With three different payment options available, you can use the Apple Card for most purchases. You can use the physical card in-store or online at any place that accepts Mastercard and can use the card information from your Wallet app at any online store that takes Mastercard. (Mastercard is widely accepted at virtually all locations where major credit cards are accepted.)

How to Use the Apple Card

Below, we detail the process for paying with the physical Apple Card, using the card with Apple Pay, and paying with the Wallet app.

Pay With the Physical Apple Card

Since the Apple Card is co-branded with Mastercard, you can use the physical, titanium Apple Card anywhere Mastercard is accepted, even if the location does not take Apple Pay. The Apple Card has a chip; you can insert it into the card reader as you would with any other chipped debit or credit card.

Pay With Apple Card via Apple Pay

To pay with Apple Pay, you do not need to have the physical Apple Card with you; you can use an Apple device (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, etc.). For in-store purchases, hold your device near the store’s Apple Pay reader. To pay via Apple Pay online or through apps, select the “Pay with Apple Pay” button. You will need to authenticate the purchase using either FaceID, TouchID, or a passcode.

Pay With the Apple Card Number in the Wallet App

Apple will store your Apple Card number in the Wallet app on your iPhone. This allows you to pay anywhere you would manually enter a credit card number, such as websites and apps — even if the website or app does not support Apple Pay. Note that the Apple Card number that you use to pay via the Wallet app is different from the number of your titanium Apple Card; the physical card is not embossed with a card number.

You do not need your physical Apple Card to pay with your Apple Card number via the Wallet app. Open the app on your device and tap on Apple Card, then tap on the “More” button, select “Card Information,” and authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode. You can then view or copy and paste your card information.

Additional Apple Card Information

Rewards

The Apple Card offers the Daily Cash rewards program. Rewards include:

  • 3% cash back on anything you purchase from Apple (in-store, online, or in Apple apps)
  • 3% cash back at select partners when using the Apple Card with Apple Pay and 2% cash back on all other purchases using Apple Pay
  • 1% cash back on all purchases using the physical Apple Card (where Apple Pay is not supported)

Fees

The Apple Card does not charge late fees, annual fees, or foreign transaction fees. However, you will accrue interest if you do not pay your card balance in full each month.

Security

The Apple Card has enhanced privacy and security measures. The physical titanium Apple Card does not contain a credit card number, expiration date, or CVV number on the card, making theft of the number difficult. You can store and locate your card number and expiration date in the Wallet app.

All purchases require your device number as well as a one‑time, dynamic security code that is generated by your Apple device when the purchase is authorized.
