The Wawa Credit Card can help you save on gas, but you’ll likely need at least a fair credit score to qualify. Keep in mind, the card has a high interest rate and a substantial late fee, so you’ll need to pay your statement balance in full and on time each month to avoid charges. We have more on the Wawa credit card approval odds below.

What You Need to Know About the Wawa Credit Card

The best thing about the card is that it gives you a 5-cents-per-gallon discount on gas at Wawa. Some of the downsides include: the card can only be used at Wawa and it has a high interest rate and a substantial late fee, so you’ll need to make sure to pay your bill in full and on time every month. Here are some more details about the Wawa Credit Card:

Wawa Credit Card Approval Odds

There is no official minimum credit score to be approved for a Wawa Credit Card, as confirmed by customer service representatives from Wawa and Citigroup. But, to give you an idea of the type of credit scores that are being approved, we researched other retail store credit cards from Citi. In our research, we found that you generally need at least a fair credit score (above 630) to be approved for a Citi-backed card. If your credit score is 700 or greater, you will very likely be approved.

According to our communication with the company, other factors are considered beyond on your credit score, which is why there is no minimum credit score requirement. Card issuers typically look at things like your debt-to-income ratio and any blemishes on your credit history, such as delinquencies, collections, or bankruptcies.

In Summary

In our research, we found you’ll need at least a fair credit score to be approved for a Wawa Credit Card. But Citi will also take into account factors beyond your credit score, which is why there is no minimum credit score requirement.

I’m a Canadian citizen and I stay 6 months a year in my condo located in Florida. I would like to apply for a credit card. As a Canadian, I do not have a Social Security number, so I can’t submit my application. Could you inform me how to proceed? I have a checking account in Lake Worth and I’m the owner of my condo with no mortgage loan. Thank you for your help.

Hello, Benoit! Do you have an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) or file taxes/do business while you are in Florida? ITINs are formatted like Social Security numbers (SSNs) and can be used in place of the SSN on most credit applications. Unfortunately, U.S. credit card applications do require either an ITIN or SSN, so without one of these numbers, you will not be able to apply. If you do not currently have an ITIN, you can visit the IRS.gov website to find out whether you’re eligible and how to apply for an ITIN. Best of luck!
