Walmart has become a one-stop-shop for millions of Americans, so it’s no surprise that the mega-retailer offers customers a slew of financial services. You’ve probably seen signs for the MoneyCenter at your local Walmart, but the signs don’t detail all of the store’s services. See below to find out about the many financial services Walmart’s MoneyCenter provides and the hours of the day — and night — when you can take advantage of them.

Walmart MoneyCenter Hours

While you can search for your local Walmart using the Store Locator feature and view deli hours, pharmacy hours, and in-store pickup orders, MoneyCenter hours are not listed. We contacted Walmart stores in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Virginia, Colorado, and Louisiana to find out more about their MoneyCenter hours. While exact hours vary by location, most MoneyCenters are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The earliest opening time we found was 7 a.m., and the earliest closing time we found was 5 p.m. We also heard from one store with a MoneyCenter that does not open until 10 a.m. If you’re uncertain about your local Walmart’s MoneyCenter hours, and if they’re not listed online, you can call ahead to confirm. Most hours are consistent throughout the week, though some locations have limited hours on Sundays.

We were also told by several associates working at the MoneyCenter that if they are short-staffed, they will close the MoneyCenter and send the associates to other departments. One of the associates also told us that there is usually just one associate working at the MoneyCenter; therefore, the MoneyCenter may close at intervals throughout the day to accommodate associate breaks.

Note that while you can cash checks at the MoneyCenter, you can also cash your checks at any of the open Walmart registers. Our research has more about Walmart’s check cashing policies, including hours and fees. Tax prep services, though they are advertised as being part of the MoneyCenter, are actually offered by outside tax prep services companies, such as H&R Block. During tax season, these accounting companies set up booths separate from the MoneyCenter and provide tax services at various hours.

      Hi Jeanette,
I’m afraid my ability to answer your question is limited, due to it being outside of the scope of this article about Walmart Money Center policies. For help with your GoBank card, your best bet is to call GoBank directly.

If you have a MasterCard GoBank debit card, call (888) 288-1843
If you have a Visa GoBank debit card, call (888) 280-8260
