You have 90 days from the date of purchase to return furniture to Walmart — even furniture you’ve opened, with or without the receipt — but there are a few exceptions. For example, if you purchased a mattress from Walmart, you must return it in its original, unopened packaging for a refund. Here’s what else you need to know about the Walmart furniture return policy.

Walmart Furniture Return Policy
We contacted Walmart’s virtual help center, researched Walmart’s corporate return policy online, and reached out to a few Walmart stores to find out about the Walmart furniture return policy. Representatives informed us that as long as the furniture item was purchased from a Walmart store or bought online from Walmart.com and classified as “Sold and Shipped by Walmart” — meaning the item wasn’t purchased from a Walmart Marketplace Retailer — you have 90 days to make a return or exchange.
If you purchased the furniture item from a brick-and-mortar store location, you can return it to any Walmart along with the original packaging and receipt. The box can be opened — as we’ve previously reported — but you still need to bring it with you.
All furniture returns must be in their original, saleable condition. Furniture can’t be returned half-assembled or broken; if you have assembled the furniture, you should take it apart before returning it, and be sure to include all parts, hardware, and original packaging in your return.[1] If the furniture you purchased arrives damaged, you can make a return or exchange in-store or by mail.
Returns Without a Receipt
With a receipt, you’ll be refunded to your original payment method. If you don’t have the receipt, you’ll need to present a valid government-issued photo ID. If the item costs less than $25, you can get a refund without a receipt. If it costs more than $25, you can exchange the item or you may receive store credit.[2] Keep in mind that store managers have the final say on all returns.
Mail-In Furniture Returns
If you made your purchase through Walmart.com, you can either return it to a Walmart store or sign in to your Walmart.com account to start a return. To return an “oversized” item by mail, you’ll need to contact Walmart Customer Care to arrange for freight shipping. You may be responsible for the cost of return freight shipping, which will vary depending on the item’s size.

Exceptions
One exception to the above policy is mattresses. If you’ve purchased a mattress from Walmart or Walmart.com, you can only return the mattress if it’s in the original, unopened packaging. For more on Walmart’s mattress return policy, see our article.
Other exceptions to the furniture return policy are items purchased from Walmart.com that actually come from third-party, Marketplace sellers. To find out whether or not you can return furniture from a Marketplace seller, you’ll need to contact the seller directly.

Hello, Caleb! You should be able to return the organizer if you disassemble it. The store manager will have final authority on whether to accept the return, but if you have the original packaging, your receipt, and all parts/hardware, the store will usually accept it.
