How to Return Appliances to Walmart

To return an appliance to Walmart, you must bring the appliance, all of its accessories, and the original manufacturer’s packaging to the store during return hours. You do not need the receipt, but if you do not have it, your refund will be in the form of store credit. With the receipt as proof of purchase, you can get a full refund to your original form of payment.^[2]

As mentioned above, you need to bring the appliance’s original packaging — even if the box is opened or damaged. This is especially important for non-receipted returns. The store associate will need to scan the barcode on the box to ensure the appliance was purchased from Walmart, as part of the company’s return verification process. Store managers have the ultimate say in approving or denying returns, so if you don’t have the packaging, you should contact the store to see if it may still accept the return.

Online Appliance Returns

You should return in-store purchases to a Walmart store; online purchases shipped and sold by Walmart.com can be returned to any store or by mail. To return an appliance by mail, you can look up the order online, print the prepaid return shipping label, and send the item back with all of its accessories and original packaging within the appropriate time frame.
