Target does not recycle batteries. However, it does have recycling collection bins for aluminum cans, bottles, glass, plastic, ink cartridges, and certain electronics in all of its stores, a corporate customer service representative said.

We contacted Target stores in Alabama, Idaho, North Carolina, Oregon, and South Dakota; all locations we spoke to confirmed that they have recycling bins at the front of the store, but they do not recycle batteries.

Where to Recycle Batteries

Each state has its own rules and regulations for battery disposal and recycling. You can call your local Department of Public Works or check the website for your city or town to find out its policy. Many areas have battery donation boxes at local libraries, and some towns and cities have specific collection dates throughout the year as well.
