Shoe Store Credit Cards: 13 Options Detailed (Including Terms & Fees)

Many store credit cards offer perks and incentives ranging from free shipping and discounts to rewards points and access to unadvertised sales. If you are a frequent shopper, these perks can really add up in your favor.

While there are plenty of perks that come with opening a store credit card — including shoe stores — it’s important to consider interest rates and late payment fees. Retail credit card rates are usually higher than typical credit card rates, averaging about 25%, and late payment fees often cost about $40. However, as long as you pay off your balance each month (on time) you won’t have to worry about these fees.

What We Recommend

DSW is currently the only shoe store that offers a credit card, and the card comes with a variety of savings and rewards opportunities, as well as a competitive APR in comparison to other store credit cards.

For other good credit card options at stores that, while not technically shoe stores, have large shoe departments, consider a credit card from Amazon or Nordstrom, or your favorite department store.

Shoe Stores That Have Credit Cards

For the serious shoe shopper, a shoe store-specific credit card probably sounds wonderful. Although there are plenty of big shoe retailers like Famous Footwear and Shoe Carnival, we were able to locate just one shoe store with its own credit card. Yes, unfortunately, a Famous Footwear or Shoe Carnival credit card or any other shoe store cards don’t exist. But here’s the card you can get: the DSW’s Rewards Visa. The DSW Rewards Visa offers a solid rewards program that allows you to save on purchases in-store and earn points for purchases elsewhere. Here’s what you need to know:

In Summary

Shoe store credit cards are currently not commonly offered, but if you are a frequent shopper at DSW, the store’s credit card offers savings and rewards that may make it worth it for you. Keep in mind, however, that store credit cards will typically come with high interest rates and late payment fees. Other good options for credit cards you can get and use to buy shoes are from retailers like Amazon and Nordstrom, as well as most major department stores.
