Despite the evolution of digital communication, there are still plenty of times when sending or receiving a fax is necessary. Since most people don’t own a personal fax machine, turning to a local business is usually the best option for most people when they need to send a fax. Walmart offers a variety of services to customers, including financial services and photo centers, but it does not have fax machines available for public use. We confirmed this information by contacting Walmart’s corporate customer service department. We also reached out to a dozen individual Walmart locations, all of which confirmed that there is no Walmart fax service.

Buying a Fax Machine at Walmart

While the service isn’t available in stores, Walmart does sell a variety of fax machines — if you need to send faxes frequently enough, you may want to consider buying one to use at home. Most fax machines are combination printers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines. Prices range from as little as around $40 for a simple machine to hundreds of dollars for a high-end, high-quality machine. If you’re already thinking about buying a printer, scanner, or copier, and you also have a need to send faxes, buying a machine to use at home can make sense.

If you purchase one of these machines and later need to return it, we have the information about Walmart’s printer return policy.

Places With Faxing Services

If you don’t want to purchase a fax machine for yourself, there are plenty of nationwide places that offer the service, either for free or for a small fee. Several of these include:

  • Staples[1]
  • Office Depot/OfficeMax[2]
  • The UPS Store[3]
  • FedEx/Kinkos[4]
  • AAA[5]
  • Pilot Flying J[6]
  • Postal Annex[7]
  • Hy-Vee[8]
