You can return most shoes to Macy’s within 180 days of purchase, a corporate customer service representative said. There are, however, a few shoe brands that must be returned within 45 days of purchase. These brands include:

• Finish Line
• Nike
• Sketchers

In addition, shoes on clearance or classified as “Last Act” need to be returned within 30 days of purchase.

Macy’s only accepts returns of shoes in new, unworn condition. Macy’s representatives suggest you only try shoes on indoors, preferably on a carpeted surface. You should not wear the shoes outside if you are considering returning them.

For a smooth return process and a full refund, bring the shoes in the box they came in and have your original sales receipt. Without a receipt, you may only be able to return the shoes for store credit in the amount of the lowest sale price in the last 180 days. You’ll also need to show a photo ID to make a return without a receipt.
