H-E-B rents out Bissell carpet cleaners instead of Rug Doctor carpet cleaners. We contacted stores in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Corpus Christi to gather details about H-E-B’s carpet cleaner pricing and policies.

Machine Availability and Pricing

H-E-B rents Bissell’s Big Green Carpet Cleaners and Little Green Pro Portable Carpet Cleaners. The Big Green Carpet Cleaner costs about $30 for 24 hours of use and $40 for 48 hours of use. The Little Green Pro Portable Carpet Cleaner costs about $15 for 24 hours and $20 for 48 hours

The rental locator on Bissell’s website indicates which models are available at individual rental locations. However, in our tests, we found that this locator does not always reflect current availability. To confirm that the machine you need is available for rent, it’s best to call your local H-E-B before visiting.

Attachments and Cleaning Solutions

Attachments for cleaning stairs and upholstery cost $5, added to the machine rental cost. Cleaning solution also costs extra, and the Bissell rental contract requires you to purchase Bissell-branded cleaner for use with your rental. Prices range from about $14 to $30, depending on the formulation.

Renting and Returning a Carpet Cleaner at H-E-B

When you visit the H-E-B business center to rent a carpet cleaner, you’ll need to present your photo ID. You can pay with cash, check, debit card, or credit card. You cannot reserve a carpet cleaner online.

Virtually all of the H-E-B locations we contacted will charge you a $20 deposit that can be refunded if your device is thoroughly cleaned when you return it. If you return the rental late, you will be charged the 24-hour rate for each full or partial day that you are delinquent.
