Short Answer

The Home Depot has a wide selection of third-party gift cards available in stores. While gift card availability varies by location, a few popular gift card brands sold at The Home Depot include restaurant gift cards to Applebee’s, The Cheesecake Factory, and Red Robin, and entertainment gift cards for iTunes and Google Play. For the list of gift cards typically sold at The Home Depot, see below.

Gift Cards Sold at The Home Depot

The Home Depot sells a variety of third-party gift cards in its stores, but it does not sell them online. We contacted Home Depot stores in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, and New York to confirm which gift cards are typically in stock. Keep in mind, gift card availability varies by location — and some stores sell gift cards for local retailers, in addition to gift cards for national chains.

Store associates informed us that gift card denominations will vary depending on what your local store has in stock at the time of your visit; most brands offer cards for $25 or $50, but across all brands, gift cards at The Home Depot generally range from $15 to $50. There are no additional fees associated with gift card purchases, except for prepaid cards, which usually come with a fee of $2 to $8 per card (depending on the card amount).

If you’re looking for a specific gift card, you may want to give your local Home Depot a call to check its in-store availability. Be aware that you cannot use a Home Depot gift card, eGift card, or store credit to purchase third-party gift cards.

Hello, Donna! Yes, you can use The Home Depot’s consumer credit card to purchase third-party gift cards in stores. (You cannot use it to buy The Home Depot gift cards/eGift cards online, however.) The Home Depot stores accept cash, credit cards, and debit cards as payment for third-party gift cards. Best of luck with your purchase!
