Arizona-based regional grocery chain Fry’s Food Stores rents out Rug Doctor carpet cleaners. Most stores rent out the Rug Doctor Pro Deep Cleaner for $34.99 for a 24-hour rental period. Some locations (including the Fry’s in Laveen Village, Ariz.) may also rent out the Rug Doctor Pro Portable Detailer & Spot Cleaner for $34.99 for a 24-hour rental period. Two-day rental fees vary by location, but you can expect to pay between $45 and $70 for 48 hours. Cleaning attachments for things like grout and upholstery can be rented for $5.99 to $7.99 each. We contacted 10 Fry’s locations around Phoenix, Ariz., and all of the stores we called had carpet cleaners and attachments available for rent.

You should expect to put down a $15 deposit when renting a carpet cleaner from Fry’s. All but one of the Fry’s stores we contacted said you’ll need to provide a deposit. Fry’s store associates said you can pay upfront with cash, a debit card, or a credit card. To rent a carpet cleaner, you’ll also need to show a valid photo ID.

To properly use the carpet cleaner, you’ll need a cleaning solution. Fry’s sells a variety of Rug Doctor-brand cleaning solutions ranging in price from $14.99 to $21.99. Alternately, you can use another brand or your own solution, store associates said. Machines should be returned clean of soap. Upon returning the machine in clean, working order, your deposit will be refunded to your original payment method.
