Walgreens does not price match its own stores, its website, or competitor stores and websites for any products, including prescriptions, we were told by Walgreens’ corporate customer service department.

But, during our research, we found that about half of the Walgreens stores we contacted said they do price match with Walgreens.com. So, if you see a lower price on Walgreens’ website, you can try requesting a price match in-store. To gather this information, we contacted store locations in California, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, and Texas.

Where price matching is available, the items must be identical and you’ll be limited to one price match transaction per day. If the item is currently sold out, you cannot receive a rain check for the lower price. Online sales and special offers, typing errors, previous sales, contact lenses, photos, prescriptions, and health services are not eligible for price matching.

See our related article for the comprehensive list of the stores that price match.

Ways to Save at Walgreens

Balance Rewards is the free rewards program at Walgreens. In addition to weekly specials and paperless coupons, members accumulate points for purchases that convert to dollar savings. For example, if you earn 4,000 points, you’ll be eligible for $4 off your next purchase.

If you are also an AARP member, you can link your Balance Rewards to your AARP membership to earn additional points per purchase.
