Does Walgreens Accept CareCredit?

Walgreens does accept CareCredit health credit cards. Duane Reade — which is owned by Walgreens — also accepts CareCredit, following its parent company’s acceptance policy.

CareCredit’s partnership with Walgreens and Duane Reade is noted on the CareCredit website. To confirm that Walgreens and Duane Reade now accept CareCredit, we also contacted Walgreens’ customer service department and several store locations.

You can use CareCredit for most purchases at Walgreens and Duane Reade, though you cannot use CareCredit for purchases made online or through the Walgreens app. In-store purchases except for lottery tickets, gift cards, card reloads, alcohol, and tobacco are eligible for CareCredit.

CareCredit is a health care credit card that can be used at a number of different places, including the doctor’s office, dentist, veterinarian, some Walmart Vision Centers, 1-800-Contacts, and Rite Aid.

CareCredit usually offers a no-interest, short-term financing option, as well as a low-APR, longer-term financing option. However, promotional financing is not available for purchases at Walgreens or Duane Reade.
