Short Answer

QuikTrip’s convenience stores accept EBT for eligible food purchases. You cannot buy gas with EBT. For more information on using EBT at QuikTrip, see below.

Does QuikTrip Take EBT?

QuikTrip (also known as QT, for short) accepts EBT in its convenience stores, but you cannot buy fuel with EBT. We confirmed this information by contacting QuikTrip locations in Missouri, North Carolina, and Texas and checking the USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) retailer locator.

Eligible Purchases

There are some limitations to what you can buy with EBT. As noted above, you can’t pay for your gas with EBT; you also cannot purchase alcohol, cigarettes, over-the-counter medications, or hot/prepared foods. However, QuikTrip does sell a variety of EBT-eligible items, including packaged snacks and cold beverages. See our full list of what you can and can’t buy with EBT.

Using EBT at QuikTrip

EBT cards work like debit cards; you can use the regular card reader at checkout. If you need to buy a mix of eligible and ineligible items — such as food and gas — you can split your order. Use your EBT card to pay for qualifying items, and you can then pay for the remainder of your order with another acceptable payment method, such as cash, a debit card, or a credit card.

Note that you should immediately let the cashier know that you would like to split your order; QuikTrip’s system cannot distinguish between EBT-eligible and prohibited items and will deny your EBT transaction if the order is not divided.
