Short Answer

Meijer accepts EBT for in-store purchases, as well as for pickup if you pay in-store. For more details, see below.

Does Meijer Accept EBT?

Meijer accepts EBT for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)-approved items. We confirmed this information with customer service representatives at Meijer stores in Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Qualifying items include foods like bread, cereal, meat, vegetables, and fruit; restrictions include alcohol and prepared foods. See our full list of things you can and can’t buy with EBT.

How to Use EBT at Meijer

You can use EBT for in-store purchases at Meijer, as well as for pickup purchases, though you must pay inside the store if using pickup (as previously reported). Meijer does not accept EBT for delivery; see our list of other EBT food delivery options.

EBT cards work similarly to a credit or debit card. When you’re ready to pay, swipe your EBT card through the card reader. If your order includes non-qualifying items or you want to split the payment, swipe your EBT card first; you can then use a different payment method for the remainder of your order.
