Does Chevron Do Cash Back?

Most Chevron gas stations offer cash back with a debit card purchase, and cash-back policies vary by location, Chevron told us. Generally speaking, you can get up to $40 cash back with no fee. You cannot get cash back if you are using a credit card — only debit. Some stations don’t offer cash back at the register, but may have an ATM available for use instead. Other stations may charge a fee on cash-back transactions. Contact or visit your nearest Chevron gas station to learn more about individual cash-back policies.

I have the Texaco/Chevron Advantage card — tried for cash back at numerous stations in SLC, none worked. Is there a list of stations that offer the service or do I need to get a pin for the ATMs?

Hello, Marvin! Chevron only does cash back on debit card purchases, but the Advantage card is a credit card. You can use the Advantage card at an ATM, but only if the ATM has the Cirrus symbol and your account is approved for cash access. We have updated our article to emphasize that cash back transactions at Chevron are debit-only.

Is it legal for a Chevron station to charge a $2.00 fee for cash back of $20.00?

Hello, Vicky! Yes, it is legal for merchants to charge fees on cash-back transactions, though most choose not to charge a fee. We have updated our article to reflect that some Chevron stations may charge fees. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
