Where to Sell a Motorcycle (Plus Buying Options)
While you can’t sell your motorcycle to CarMax, you may want to try one of the following dealers (you can buy used motorcycles from some of the following dealers, as well):
- CashForCars.com: Buys motorcycles that are model year 2002 or newer; the company will tow the bike from your home or work (Note: The company does not sell motorcycles.)
- Cycle Trader: An classifieds marketplace where you can buy and sell used motorcycles
- RumbleOn: An online marketplace where you can buy, sell, and even finance a motorcycle
- Sell Us Your Bike: Buys used motorcycles (and ATVs and snowmobiles) across the U.S.
In addition to specialized sites for motorcycles, you can also sell your bike (or buy one) on a site like Craigslist, eBay, or Facebook Marketplace. You will have the flexibility of negotiating the price (whether buying or selling), but if you are selling, you will have to do the work of finding a buyer instead of having a company take it off your hands.
Another option is to sell your motorcycle with Autotrader, which is a popular and reputable vehicle marketplace. However, the company charges monthly advertisement package fees when you list your motorcycle.
