Does Discount Tire Sell Used Tires?

Discount Tire — also known as America’s Tire, in some areas — does sell used tires, but availability may be slim.[1] There are no warranties or guarantees on used tires, but the store’s stock doesn’t include any tires over three years old or tires with tears or worn treads.[1] You can save quite a bit by buying used tires, but the purchase price will vary depending on the type of tire, the age of the tire, and the amount of tread left.

For specific used tire inventory information, you can call or visit your local Discount Tire. Typical store hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If Discount Tire doesn’t have used tires that you need in stock, there are a few other options. Many local auto shops sell used tires, and you can even buy them online (as previously reported) Additionally, if you don’t want to buy used tires but you’re on a budget, check out our list of rent-to-own rim and tire places (no credit checks).

Does Discount Tire Buy Used Tires?

Discount Tire doesn’t buy used tires, but you may be able to trade in your tires for a small credit toward the purchase of new tires.[1] The amount of the credit will likely be small, and the specific amount will depend on the tire’s type, age, tread, etc. The store usually won’t accept tires over three years old because it doesn’t want to resell old or worn tires. No matter the age, the tire’s tread should meet certain criteria and there should not be any tears. You will need to bring your tires into the store for inspection to determine whether or not Discount Tire can accept them for credit. You can call the Discount Tire store nearest you to discuss your options or make an appointment.

Note that Discount Tire does charge a small fee if you leave your old tires at the store and they aren’t in good enough condition to be accepted for a trade-in.[2] To avoid this, and to potentially sell your tires elsewhere, check out our list of used tire places that buy used tires new you.
