Can I Cash a Check at a Casino?

Casinos do not provide full-service check cashing or financial service centers; their services are intended for visitors looking to get cash for casino games. We detail the common check cashing policies by check type below.

Check Cashing Policies by Check Type

Personal Checks

If you want to cash a personal check at the casino, you’ll have to follow an e-check process, which requires a blank check from your own bank account. This process reduces the risk of casinos cashing bad or bounced checks. It works as follows:

1. Give the casino a blank check, your driver’s license, and your social security number.
2. The casino will run a check of your credit or check cashing history.
3. The results of the credit check will determine your maximum check cashing limit.
4. You can then authorize your blank check for any amount up to your limit (provided you have enough money in your checking account).

Traveler’s Checks

Payroll Checks

We weren’t able to find any casinos that cash payroll checks. We were advised by one casino customer service representative that while it used to be common practice, most casinos no longer cash payroll checks.
