Aerie Return Policy & Aerie Exchange Policy
You can return or exchange most items at Aerie at any time with your original receipt or invoice, a corporate customer service representative said. If possible, you should include all tags and packaging with your items, but the items can be worn (with the exception of underwear, which must be in new condition).
A store associate may be able to look up your receipt if you have an AEO account. If your transaction cannot be confirmed, you may still be able to make a return or exchange for the current sale price of item(s); funds will be issued in the form of a gift card. Returns made with a receipt will be refunded to your original payment method. If you paid by credit or debit, you’ll want to bring the card you used to make the purchase with you when making a return.

Aerie is an intimates, apparel, activewear, and swim brand of American Eagle Outfitters. We were told that you can return in-store, online, and by-phone purchases to an Aerie store or an American Eagle Outfitters, AEO Factory Store, or Tailgate store — and vice versa.
Online Orders
Online orders can also be returned or exchanged by mail — just note the reason for the return on the invoice and ship the item(s) back in the original shipping package, if possible. You’ll need to choose a carrier and pay for return shipping costs; original shipping costs are nonrefundable. Aerie’s return address is:

To exchange an item by mail, you can print an exchange form from Aerie’s website by clicking “Account” and then “Track Order.” Once you locate your order, you’ll have the option to print an exchange form.

We contacted Aerie stores in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania to confirm this information; all of the store associates we spoke to said they follow the corporate policy as explained above.

So the money from the return goes into your account? I used a visa gift card for the purchase.
Hello, Alyssa! Do you still have the Visa gift card? If so, you may be able to receive your refund back onto that card; be sure to bring it with you to the store when you make the return. If you no longer have the gift card or Aerie is unable to load the funds back onto it, you will receive a store gift card. Best of luck with your return!
