ACE Cash Express Checking Cashing Fees Detailed

Fees for cashing checks at ACE Cash Express range from 2% to 10%, depending on the type of check; the fees do not tend to vary by state. We contacted multiple ACE Cash Express locations in Florida, Minnesota, Texas, and Oregon for information about their rates for personal checks, government checks, payroll checks, and money orders.

Employees at some ACE Cash Express locations would not provide quotes over the phone and said customers must bring in the checks in order to receive estimates. Before cashing any check with ACE, you must appear in person, provide a government-issued ID and a Social Security number, fill out a personal information card, and present the check unsigned.

While not all of the locations we contacted were able to provide quotes, those that did were consistent from state to state. Below are the fee estimates for different types of checks.

• Government checks: 2% to 4%
• Money orders: 10%
• Payroll checks: 2% to 6%
• Personal checks: 10%
