Can You Use Apple Pay at an ATM?

In recent years, some large banks have begun incorporating near-field communication (NFC) into their ATMs. NFC is the technology that allows you to pay with your phone at various retailers, usings apps like Apple Pay and Android Pay.

If you see the NFC symbol on an ATM, you can likely use Apple Pay to withdraw money. Sometimes banks call this “cardless cash.” However, note that not every NFC ATM will necessarily allow you to use Apple Pay to make withdrawals; some cardless ATMs require you to use a proprietary, bank-branded app.

Below, we list the banks with ATMs that typically allow you to make cash withdrawals with Apple Pay. We reached out to representatives from multiple large and small banks to obtain this information.
