Porsche’s luxury sports cars consistently rank among the best brands for both safety and performance, and buying a Porsche is a significant investment. Both new and pre-owned Porsche vehicles come with standard warranties that cover limited repairs to your vehicle. The price of the vehicle includes a limited warranty.

Limited Warranty Coverage

The Porsche limited warranty for new vehicles covers:

  • Limited repairs for four years or 50,000 miles (whichever comes first)
  • Limited repairs using genuine Porsche replacement parts and accessories for two years and unlimited miles
  • 12-year rust perforation warranty
  • Free 24-hour roadside assistance for the term of the warranty

For certified pre-owned Porsche vehicles, the limited warranty covers:

  • Limited repairs and replacements for two years and unlimited miles (for vehicles outside the original new vehicle warranty period)
  • Free 24-hour roadside assistance for the term of the warranty

You can find out more about what’s included in the Porsche limited warranty by downloading the Warranty Manual from the official Porsche USA website.

Porsche Extended Warranty

In addition to the limited warranty included with the purchase of a new or used Porsche, you can purchase a Porsche extended warranty package from your dealer for an additional fee. Porsche offers two main extended warranty options: Powertrain and Platinum. Porsche does not publicize exact prices for its protection products, but we contacted dealerships in New York, Arkansas, and Oregon for coverage information and estimated price ranges.

Both the Porsche Powertrain extended warranty and the Platinum extended warranty allow you to choose between two deductible levels: $250 or $100. With the $250 deductible, the overall cost of the warranty is lower, but you will pay more out of pocket for repairs. With the $100 deductible, the cost of the warranty is higher, but Porsche waives the deductible if you have your vehicle serviced at the dealership where you purchased it.

Both options include extended 24-hour roadside assistance for the term of the warranty.

Porsche Powertrain Extended Warranty

Terms for the Powertrain extended warranty from Porsche range from five to 10 years, and up to 100,000 miles. This warranty covers your vehicle in the event of damage to the following components:

  • Engine
  • Transmission
  • Seals and gaskets
  • Drive axle

Depending on the type of vehicle, deductible amount, and length of the warranty, the Powertrain warranty costs around $1,000 to $6,000.

Porsche Platinum Extended Warranty

Offering the highest amount of coverage, the Platinum extended warranty for Porsche vehicles includes all of the coverage of the Powertrain warranty, as well as coverage for the following components:

  • Shocks
  • Suspension
  • Climate control
  • Steering
  • Brakes
  • Electrical system
  • Fuel system
  • Navigation
  • Audio and high-tech, including Bluetooth

Depending on the type of vehicle, deductible amount, and length of the warranty, the Platinum warranty costs around $3,000 to $9,000.

Porsche Protection Plans

Beyond the Powertrain and Platinum warranties, you can purchase additional specialized protection plans from your Porsche dealer that help to cover repairs that the extended warranty does not include. Prices depend on the vehicle model, the protection plan length, and the state where your plan is issued. We detail the extra coverage options below.

Premier Tire & Wheel Protection

  • Coverage: Replacements for tires or wheels due to damage from covered road hazards, including potholes, glass, nails, and debris
  • Cost: $500 to $1,000

  • Cost: $500 to $1,000

Windshield Protection

  • Coverage: Repairs for windshield cracks and chips; includes one covered replacement windshield during the warranty period; excludes hail damage

Multi-Coverage Protection

  • Coverage: You can customize a combination of any or all of the above additional protection packages to fit your coverage preferences.
  • Cost: $2,000 to $2,500

GAP Coverage

  • Coverage: Porsche offers optional Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP) coverage for new and pre-owned vehicle purchases, for an additional fee. GAP insurance covers you in the event that your car is declared a total loss, providing an additional payout beyond the insurance coverage to ensure that the outstanding balance on your car loan is paid off in full.
  • Cost: $200 to $1,000 or more

You can find a complete description of each coverage type on the Porsche USA Protection Plan Products webpage.
