Safeway Rewards Gas Station Locations

Safeway offers rewards through its “just for U” loyalty program, which allows customers to earn points on grocery, pharmacy, and gift card purchases. Members of the just for U program can redeem earned points for gas and grocery discounts. We contacted representatives for Safeway, as well as major U.S. gas station chains, and found that the following gas stations participate in Safeway’s just for U rewards program and accept points for use toward gas purchases:

Earning just for U Rewards

Grocery stores owned by Albertsons Companies offer the just for U loyalty program, a corporate customer service representative said. It is free to join just for U at ACME Markets, Albertsons, Carrs, Jewel-Osco, Pavilions, Randalls, Safeway, Shaw’s, Star Market, Tom Thumb, and Vons in stores; you can also join online. Members can shop across all associated brands to earn rewards points on in-store purchases.

As a rewards member, every dollar you spend on eligible grocery and pharmacy purchases counts as one point, and for every 100 points you earn, you will receive one reward. You can redeem one reward for 10 cents off per gallon of gas or for various discounts on grocery items.

Using just for U Gas Rewards

You can redeem just for U gas rewards at any participating location of the gas stations listed above. You can find a nearby location using the Safeway fuel locator. To redeem your just for U gas rewards, you must let the cashier know you wish to use your rewards before you pump.

When redeeming fuel rewards, you can purchase a maximum of 25 gallons of gasoline, or 20 gallons if using rewards at Shell gas stations. You can also split multiple rewards and redeem them for both gas and groceries.

Rewards become available for use at participating gas stations about one hour after you earn them. Your earned points accumulate throughout each month and expire at the end of the following month.
