Walmart Tire Return Policy & Tire Warranty
Walmart’s standard return policy allows you to return most items within 90 days of purchase with or without a receipt. This policy extends to tires purchased from a Walmart store or Walmart.com. We confirmed this information with Walmart’s corporate customer service department and Walmart Auto Care Centers in Arizona, Florida, New York, and Ohio.
Tires must be in new, unused condition in order to be eligible for a refund. Once the tires are mounted and/or used, they are no longer eligible for return, and snow tires cannot be returned in any condition.[1]
To make a return, bring the tires and your receipt (if you have it) to any Walmart Auto Care Center with a Tire Lube and Express. You cannot return tires to a store location that does not have a Tire Lube and Express.[1]
If you purchased tires on Walmart.com, you can also return them to any Walmart with a Tire Lube and Express. Once your return is approved, Walmart will issue your refund to your original form of payment. While you don’t necessarily need the receipt, if you don’t have it, your refund will likely be in the form of store credit.[2] Additionally, keep in mind that store managers have the right to refuse any return made without a receipt.
Walmart Tire Warranty
All tires purchased from Walmart come with a standard manufacturer’s warranty, but terms vary by tire brand. For an additional $10 per tire, you can purchase Walmart’s Road Hazard warranty.[3] Walmart’s Road Hazard warranty provides flat repairs and discounted replacements if the tire is unrepairable.
You also have the option to purchase Walmart’s Lifetime Balance and Rotation service for an additional $12 per tire.[4] Under this service, Walmart will balance and rotate tires every 7,500 miles for the life of the tires. Tires can be serviced at any Walmart Auto Care Center; however, if you’re visiting a location other than where you purchase the policy/service, you’ll need to bring your original receipt.
Tires Purchased Elsewhere
If you are unsatisfied with tires purchased from Walmart, you can purchase tires elsewhere, and Walmart will install them at any of its Auto Care Centers. The basic tire installation package includes mounting and a lifetime balance and rotation every 7,500 miles for $15 per tire, plus an additional $10 per tire for all tires not purchased at Walmart or Walmart.com.[5] This fee also applies to tires purchased through Walmart Marketplace.

Unfortunately, this means you cannot visit a different Walmart store. You will need to get your tire repaired at an open (non-Walmart) auto shop in your area.
Normally, getting a repair elsewhere would void your Road Hazard warranty; however, given the circumstances, Walmart should be able to honor the warranty when the Auto Care Centers reopen. You may want to contact Walmart’s customer service department to be sure before getting the repair.
If I purchased the Road Hazard Warranty and I got a screw in my tire that my husband put a plug in, will that void the warranty? I didn’t see anywhere on the paper given to me that it does, nor is it stated on the Walmart website under the hazard information.
