Vons Return Policy: Time Limit, Exclusions Explained

You can make a return at Vons within 30 days of purchase as long as you have your receipt. Certain restrictions do apply. See below for more on Vons’ return policy.

Vons’ Return Policy

Vons is a grocery store chain owned by Albertsons Companies with locations throughout California and some parts of Nevada. Vons allows returns within 30 days from the date of purchase for a full refund. To confirm this return policy, we spoke with Vons’ Southern California Public Affairs Director, as well as associates from several store locations. Some restrictions do apply. The general details of Vons’ return policy and some of the restrictions are listed here:

• You can return your items — including food items — for any reason, as long as you have a receipt.
• If you don’t have a receipt, the individual store manager may allow you to exchange the item or issue you store credit. This is up to each manager’s discretion, and he or she is not required to approve your return. The store credit will be based on the current shelf price of the item — not necessarily what you paid for it.
• Restrictions apply for returns of liquor, tobacco, and baby formula. The stores we contacted don’t allow returns for these items, but this policy may vary by location.

The above return policy applies to all Vons and Pavilion (another supermarket subsidiary of Albertsons Companies) locations in Southern California. Additionally, store associates at all of the Vons locations we contacted in California and Nevada said they follow this policy. You may still want to contact your local Vons to double-check its policy, particularly for restricted items.

Vons will accept returns for 30 days on most items provided you have a receipt. If you don’t have a receipt, you may be able to exchange your item or get store credit at the manager’s discretion.
