Academy Sports + Outdoors does not offer a layaway program, a customer service manager told us. Instead, customers can apply for an Academy credit card to finance their purchase. The Academy credit card includes free shipping for online purchases and 5% off online and in-store purchases, as well as 15% off your first purchase of more than $15 with the card.

In stores, you can also look for red “Hot Deal” tags and blue “Price Drop” tags to find items that are discounted. You can also find in-store clearance racks.
