Short Answer

Waffle House offers a 10% military discount at most of its locations throughout the country. While exact requirements may vary by restaurant, you can typically get the discount by asking your server to apply it to your bill and showing a valid military ID. For more about the policy, see below.

Waffle House Military Discount Policy

We reached out to Waffle House’s corporate office to ask about its military discount, and we were unable to get confirmation of a companywide policy. However, we contacted multiple Waffle House restaurants in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee, and each one reported that it offers a 10% military discount.

To get the military discount, you will need to ask your server to apply it to your bill. Usually, you can get the discount by showing a valid military ID, but requirements vary at the discretion of your local restaurant’s manager. Several of the employees we spoke with said that military discounts may vary by location and are determined by the restaurant managers. To be sure that a specific restaurant offers the discount, and to find out what ID you might need to provide, you can call ahead and confirm.

I frequent several Waffle Houses and was recently told that I had to be in uniform in order to get a military discount.

Hello, Sabrina! As with the availability of the discount itself, Waffle House leaves identification requirements up to the discretion of each restaurant’s management. While many locations will honor the discount with a valid military ID, requirements vary by location. Thank you for bringing this to our attention; we have updated our article to include information about discount requirements.
