Short Answer

Speedway convenience stores take EBT for qualifying purchases, but you can’t use EBT to buy fuel. For more information about using EBT at Speedway, see below.

Does Speedway Accept EBT?

Speedway accepts EBT for eligible items in its convenience stores, multiple customer service representatives at Speedway locations nationwide told us. We also checked the USDA’s list of approved Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) retailers to confirm this information.

Note that you cannot use EBT to pay for gas. EBT-approved items at Speedway include things like bread, chips, candy, and cold drinks. See our list of what you can and can’t buy with EBT.

Using EBT at Speedway

EBT cards function like a debit or credit card, meaning you can use your EBT card in Speedway’s standard card readers. Note that if your order includes EBT-ineligible items, you will need to split the payment. Swipe your EBT card first, then use one of Speedway’s other payment options for the remainder of your order: cash, credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or Samsung Pay.
