Does Walmart Take WIC?

Walmart is a WIC-approved retailer and you can use WIC benefits at Walmart store locations nationwide, according to customer service. However, Walmart shoppers cannot use WIC benefits to purchase groceries online.

The USDA’s Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) helps low-income and nutritionally at-risk pregnant women, breastfeeding women, non-breastfeeding postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5. Unlike the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Progam (SNAP) that allows for the purchase of most food items, foods allowed by WIC include (but aren’t necessarily limited to) canned fish, peanut butter, tofu, fruits, vegetables, iron-fortified formula, milk, eggs, cheese, and various whole-grain foods.
