To get cash back with a debit card at H-E-B, simply swipe your card at the checkout terminal and choose the cash back option, then the amount of cash you’d like. For cash back with a personal check, write the check out for the total purchase amount plus the cash amount — for example, if your purchases total $4.50 and you want $20 in cash, make the check out for $24.50.

You can get cash back at any H-E-B register during the store’s operating hours. Most H-E-B stores are open 6 AM to 12 AM daily.
