Convenience Stores That Cash Checks

Not many convenience stores are equipped to cash checks. We called the corporate customer service departments and locations of several convenience store chains — including 7-Eleven, Sheetz, and Stripes — and found that none of them can cash checks at the counter.

Some Sheetz stores do have PNC Bank ATMs that allow check-cashing. Check the Sheetz store locator to find whether your nearest location has an ATM. There is also an alternative option at 7-Eleven; the Transact reloadable Mastercard allows direct deposits and mobile check deposits.

Local, independent convenience stores sometimes cash checks. You can find independent convenience stores by searching “convenience stores near me” or “party stores near me” on your favorite search engine and calling around to see which stores offer money services. In some states, you can find locations through a third-party check cashing service, such as the following:

Other Neighborhood Stores That Cash Checks

You’re more likely to find check-cashing services at fuel centers attached to large grocery stores than at convenience stores. You’ll usually have to go to the grocery store’s customer service counter to get your check cashed. Still, if you need to fill your tank and cash a check while you’re out, or are simply looking for a place nearby other than the bank to cash a check, this can be a convenient option.
