Giant Eagle does not allow customers to cash out or exchange gift cards for cash at its grocery stores. We contacted multiple Giant Eagle stores in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and Maryland to confirm this information.

Several associates told us that their stores used to have freestanding kiosks that would allow you to exchange unwanted third-party gift cards for money in-store, but these kiosks have been removed.

The online gift card reseller Cardpool operates these gift card exchange kiosks. We cross-referenced Giant Eagle locations with Cardpool’s online kiosk locator and confirmed that it no longer operates kiosks at Giant Eagle.

Other Ways to Sell Giant Eagle Gift Cards

When you have gift cards you no longer want, there are several companies (both in-person and online) that allow you to sell them for a portion of the card value. You can get paid in cash, check, or PayPal, or you can choose to exchange your gift card(s) for other gift cards. For more details and the list of options, see our related research on places that buy gift cards.
